Meet Dr. Monica Jones (Pearland, TX)

Monica Jones, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston in 2006 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. Dr. Jones is a native Houstonian and has been practicing optometry since 2006.

Dr. Jones began wearing glasses when she was in the fourth grade, so the world of optometry is a very familiar place to her. While considering going into medicine, Dr. Jones took the advice of an undergraduate advisor and decided to visit the College of Optometry at the University of Houston. She believes it turned out to be one of the best decisions of her life.

Dr. Jones loves the challenge of providing care for any patient who comes to the office with any eye problem. Her favorite part of being an optometrist is seeing the look on a patient's face when they experience what a difference it makes to see things clearly. Seeing the look of wonder and amazement on the face of a child getting their first pair of glasses, a person trying multifocal contacts for the first time, or a person who is one day post-LASIK, is a most gratifying experience for Dr. Jones.

In her free time away from the office, Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and her large extended family. Her hobbies include reading mystery and detective novels, and watching action movies.
